for those of you wondering "why the heck is this here", this will be the space that i will put my weekly rant/rave into the site... why here? mainly because it's nice, out of the way, and most of the other editors won't care about what i put here ^_^;;
this week's rant is about the recent airing of the escaflowne tv series on fox. for those of you out in reality, vision of escaflowne revolves around the character hitomi as she is "sucked" into the world Gaea, a world full of strange creatures, wars, dragons, and mecha called "guymelefs", including the legendary melef, escaflowne.
(and for the otaku out there who say that i've oversimplified the description, hey, you try to write within a minute).
personally, i am thankful to see such a fan favorite series (it is also one of my personal favorites) get out on tv in a form that, while not completely true to its original (heck, there are a large number of edits done to each episode, some of which i don't agree with in the slightest), is still better than the hack-job that some other shows get (cough, sailor moon, cough, macross/robotech).
i highly recommend that, if you're not familiar with the series, watch it. you will not be sorry... i don't care if batman beyond is against it. escaflowne is a great series.
