Okay, it's been a while since I noticed this article, but it was too good to not write about. Take a look:

Gainax Co-Founder Takami Akai Plans New Anime Project

Akai, in case you don't remember, was the guy who left Gainax after 2ch took offense to an episode of Gurren Lagann. (Which really doesn't hold up that badly -- the animation is a different style, but not inept, as some claimed.) It's said that Yamaga's reaction, when asked about Akai leaving, was to shrug and say, "again?" I gathered that he always knew he'd be back.

I'm just pleased to see him proven right. I like Akai's stuff. I've mentioned before that I'm a big fan of Puchi Puri Yuushi, and I've played the ill-fated English translation of Princess Maker 2. It's impossible to imagine Gainax without him.
