Been playing ゆめにっき (
Yume Nikki, "Dream Diary"). I describe it to people as an anti-RPG. You start the game in your room, and when you try to leave, your character shakes her head and refuses. You have HP, but nothing will ever try to kill you. When you sleep (and there's almost nothing else to do,) you dream yourself wandering desolate worlds peopled by unthinking and inscrutable automata. There's no dialogue worth mentioning. Your character is the only one with a name.
In some ways it's wonderful, in others deathly boring. But at the end (and it does end,) I found myself surprisingly attached to Madotsuki, the main character. I'm not sure if you need to play it, but there's something worth experiencing there, if you care to play it through.
It's all been translated, and the game itself is freeware.
Try it. Maybe you'll like it.
