In the past we have endorsed many things; in the future we shall support many others.

remember who we are.

Sometimes we don't think things through completely, or even minimally. Last week we got called on it. Quite the embarrassment -- doubly so because I still have trouble believing that people read this thing.

See, a year ago, Jeff and I wrote an article for Fanime. The theme was "praise disguised as insult," and I thought it worked rather well. I mean, we went in with some minor jabs and used that as a framing device to look at how the con was, overall, rather well-run.

But we had a throwaway line about how we could have used more support from the press staff, and, when Milton Le of Fanime's PR staff asked about it, we didn't have a shred of supporting detail, although we doubtless had something on our minds at the time. (It was also probably trivial.)

Jeff and I have apologized. We're going to move on and attempt to do better in the future. Note that this does not mean that we will cease to complain about things -- only that we will complain in a more detailed, focused, helpful fashion.
