Nisei Week 2003 - Parade Day Pictures

August brings one of Los Angeles' oldest cultural celebrations (if not the oldest cultural celebration in the city): Nisei Week. A celebration of Japanese-American cultural spirit, Nisei Week is celebrated through street vendor sales of festival foods, traditional ceremonies, and many other activities. Nisei Week typically starts off its opening weekend with a large parade through the streets, as well as the festive activities. Here's a small sampling of the sights of the activities and the parade.
